Daily Gaming Briefing: Kojima Updates, GTA 6 Soundtrack, and Bungie Clarifications
Today's industry updates feature major shifts in publishing for Hideo Kojima's upcoming titles, new details on the GTA 6 soundtrack, and official responses to Bungie franchise rumors.
Kojima Productions Shifts Publishing to Xbox
Hideo Kojima confirmed at Tokyo Game Show 2026 that Xbox is now the publisher for both 'OD' and the action-espionage title 'Physint'. This follows Sony's decision to step away from 'Physint' amid reported concerns regarding budget and profitability.
During the presentation, Kojima also revealed that actor Bill Skarsgård will star in 'Physint'. The transition to Xbox marks a significant change in the development trajectory for both highly anticipated projects.
GTA 6 Soundtrack and Bungie Rumor Control
Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature an original soundtrack consisting of 34 tracks. The music will be made available across vinyl, CD, and streaming platforms, following teasers from artists like Travis Scott and Keith Richards.
Meanwhile, Bungie has officially addressed recent leaks regarding its future. The studio denied rumors suggesting that 'Destiny' is merging with 'Marathon', labeling the speculation as unfounded.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Announced
The cult classic franchise is returning with the reveal of 'Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back'. The sequel was unveiled during the Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Attendees were given the opportunity to experience a playable demo of the game, which is currently slated for a 2027 release on PlayStation 5.
