Sony Shifts Strategy: PC Releases Halted and PlayStation Plus Prices Rise
Sony has announced a major pivot in its PC gaming strategy alongside price adjustments for new PlayStation Plus subscribers.
End of PlayStation PC Ports
PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst has confirmed to staff that future single-player titles will no longer be released on PC. This marks a significant retreat from Sony's previous strategy of bringing prestige titles to the platform.
The shift suggests that the era of day-and-date or delayed PC ports for major Sony single-player games is effectively coming to a close.
PlayStation Plus Price Adjustments
Sony has announced a price increase for new PlayStation Plus subscribers in select regions, citing ongoing market conditions. The company clarified that existing subscribers will not be affected unless their subscription lapses or they change their plan.
Exceptions to this policy exist, as users in Turkey and India will face the price hikes regardless of their current subscription status.
