Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is an expanded version of Monolith Soft’s open-world science fiction role-playing game. Set after Earth is destroyed in an interstellar war, the game follows survivors who crash-land on the alien planet Mira and establish the city of New Los Angeles. Players join the military organization BLADE, explore Mira’s regions, complete missions, recruit party members and later pilot humanoid mechs known as Skells. Compared with the original Wii U release, the Definitive Edition includes enhanced visuals, interface, and gameplay adjustments, new story elements, and additional content.
Story:
In the year 2054, humanity is caught in the destructive crossfire of two warring alien races, and Earth is destroyed. A handful of interstellar arks manage to flee, among them the White Whale, which after two years of travel is attacked and forced to crash-land on the distant planet Mira. In the chaos, the Lifehold, a device holding the majority of the human colonists, is torn from the ship and scattered across the alien world in lifepods. Awoken from one such pod by a soldier named Elma and suffering from amnesia, the player's avatar is brought to the survivors' settlement of New Los Angeles and joins BLADE, its militia. Alongside Elma and Lin, the avatar sets out across Mira to recover lost colonists and locate the Lifehold, all while contending with the hostile alien coalition known as the Ganglion.
