Tikal Online is a mobile-first 2D MMORPG set in a Maya-inspired fantasy world. Explore ancient jungle temples and mysterious islands, battle creatures, master vocations and spells, complete quests, gather equipment, trade with other players, and join parties for challenging dungeons. Built for Android, iOS, and web, Tikal Online combines classic tile-based online role-playing with an original world inspired by Mesoamerican mythology.
Story:
In the Kingdom of the Jade Serpent, the continent of Tikal rises from the warm Jade Sea — limestone hills, jungle temples, and sunken cenotes bound by the ancient white causeways called the sacbeob. Mortals live under the Three Faces of Heaven: Itzamna the Sunlit, Ah Puch the Keeper of the Earth, and Kukulkan the Feathered Serpent. Long ago the stone-cutters of Tz'aknal dug too deep and broke the Underworld road. The Gnawing Dark poured out, halls drowned, and the tunnels were sealed. The city-states of Yaxalún, Ch'en Muyal, Tz'aknal, and K'iibal Cha'an swore an uneasy truce, trading jade, cacao, and feathers while the caves filled with trolls and the treasures of the dead. Now the causeways are unsafe again. Wolves hunt at the gates, trolls hold the eastern cave, and orcs mass in the north. New heroes leave the isle of Mayahuel and the village of Cobá, walk the white road to the maize-city of Yaxalún, and choose a calling before the Three: Jaguar Knight, Eagle Paladin, Sky Sorcerer, or Jade Druid. Wandering sellswords are tolerated — someone must go down into the dark.
