About:

Rome: Card Battles is a free-to-play collectible card game set in ancient Rome and played entirely in a web browser. Players assemble decks from a collection of more than 250 cards drawn from the legions, politics, gods and arenas of the Roman world, then face opponents in turn-based duels where board positioning, resource management and timing determine the winner. Content is split between "Via della Gloria", a hundred-level single-player campaign against AI opponents, and player-versus-player duels in both casual and ranked ladders. A separate mode adapts Ludus Latrunculorum, the Roman game of military tactics, into a standalone board challenge, while each new season expands the card pool and rotates the ranked rewards.

Story:

Rome is at the height of its power, and its fiercest contests are no longer settled on the battlefield alone. In the shadow of the Senate, rival houses trade in legions, coin and favor, and every alliance sits one betrayal away from collapse. The player takes the part of a rising patrician who starts out with a single cohort and an empty treasury. The Via della Gloria, the road to glory, leads from provincial skirmishes to the marble halls of the capital, and each victory brings new allies, new rivals, and a longer list of enemies willing to see the climb end.
