About:
Pastimes is a calm 2D logic puzzle based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's painting Children's Games (1560). Players fill a large numbered grid where each clue indicates how many cells must be filled in the surrounding 3Ã3 area. Solving the puzzle gradually reveals the full painting, divided into scenes that unlock short notes about the historical games depicted. The game can be played solo or in local split-screen co-op on the same shared puzzle, with support for Steam Remote Play Together.
Story:
In Pastimes, a vast numbered grid hides Pieter Bruegel the Elder's Children's Games. Cell by cell, logic unlocks the painting: children at play across a busy sixteenth-century town, each scene waiting to be brought back into view. As regions of the puzzle are completed, fragments of the artwork return, along with short notes on the historical pastimes Bruegel painted. There is no race and no failure state, only the quiet work of filling the grid until the full scene reappears, alone or side by side with another player on the same shared canvas.
