About:
JunkRats is a story-driven action shooter set in a ruined world where humanity survives beneath the remains of collapsed cities. Years after a deadly mutation known as the Forsaken virus spread across the planet, the surface has become a hostile wasteland filled with infected creatures and decaying infrastructure. Survivors built a settlement beneath the ruins inside a massive crater, forming a controlled society known as the Underground. Combat is tactical and grounded, yet fast-paced, encouraging players to use positioning, the environment, and situational awareness to survive encounters with both human enemies and mutated creatures. Weapons feature an active reload system that rewards precise timing with faster reloads and temporary combat advantages.
Story:
The world collapsed after a deadly mutation known as the Forsaken virus spread across the planet, transforming nearly all living organisms into hostile creatures. Cities fell within months as the infection spread through the air and across entire landscapes. Governments attempted to stop it by bombing infected zones, but the virus had already begun to evolve. With the surface lost, survivors fled underground. Beneath the ruins of a shattered city, humanity built a settlement inside a massive crater formed during the early bombing attempts. This refuge became known as the Underground, a tightly controlled society built around survival. To keep the city alive, scavengers called Runners are sent to the surface to recover scrap, technology, and supplies from the ruins above. Many never return. Years later, four survivors break away from the system that treats them as expendable. As they begin living on the surface and fighting the infected creatures known as the Forsaken, they soon discover that the virus and the world beneath the crater hold far more secrets than anyone realized.
