About:

Isaac Desulme ; The Basement of Mom is a dark and humorous roguelike dungeon crawler inspired by classic top-down dungeon games. You play as Isaac Desulme, a frightened child who discovers a hidden trapdoor beneath the carpet after his mother locks herself away. Descend through a series of randomly generated floors filled with dangerous creatures, locked rooms, obstacles, secrets, and increasingly powerful bosses. Clear each room to unlock its doors, explore the dungeon, collect powerful upgrades, and find the boss guarding the way deeper underground. Isaac attacks by firing tears in different directions while moving freely around each room. Throughout the run, you can discover a wide variety of strange items that improve damage, firing speed, movement speed, range, tear size, piercing, homing abilities, health, and other combat attributes. Every run can play differently depending on the upgrades you find. The basement becomes more dangerous as you descend, introducing new enemy types, projectiles, stronger monsters, charging enemies, ghosts, and unique bosses. A minimap helps you navigate the procedurally generated floors and locate unexplored rooms, item rooms, and boss rooms. Behind the absurd atmosphere is a darker story about Isaac, his mother, fear, loneliness, and what may really be waiting at the bottom of the basement. Explore. Fight. Cry. Descend deeper. And discover what is hidden in the basement.

Story:

One night, Isaac hears something strange coming from downstairs. His mother has locked herself inside her bedroom. She refuses to answer, and a mysterious Voice keeps whispering from behind the door. Terrified, Isaac looks around the house for a way out. Under an old carpet, he discovers a hidden trapdoor. There is a staircase beneath the house. Isaac decides to descend. At first, the basement seems almost ordinary. Old furniture, forgotten clothes, rocks, and dark corridors fill the rooms. But the deeper Isaac goes, the more unnatural everything becomes. Strange creatures begin to appear, doors lock behind him, and the walls seem to change around him. Isaac realizes that this is not just a basement. It is a maze. Each floor is different, filled with new enemies and dangerous challenges. To survive, Isaac must use his tears as weapons, explore every room, destroy the creatures guarding the corridors, and collect mysterious objects that give him new powers. Some objects make him stronger. Others change the way his tears behave. A few seem to have been left there specifically for him. And at the end of every floor, something is waiting. A boss. As Isaac descends deeper, he begins to discover strange clues about his family and the reason his mother locked herself away. The monsters are not random. The Voice is not silent. And the basement may be connected to something that happened long before Isaac ever found the trapdoor. Eventually, Isaac reaches the lowest level: his mother's workshop. There, he discovers the final secret hidden beneath the house. But the truth is not what he expected. Isaac must face the last guardian, open the final trapdoor, and discover what lies at the very bottom of the basement. Maybe he will find his mother. Maybe he will find the truth. Or maybe the entire journey was hiding something much more personal. The only way to know is to keep going down. And Isaac refuses to turn back.
