About:
Bandit Kings of Ancient China is a turn-based strategy role-playing simulation game developed and published by Koei for MS-Dos, the Amiga, and the Apple II. It was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System and a number of other platforms, including a re-release in 1996 on the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. It was well-received at its inception, and was considered to be a significant step forward in the complexity of strategy gaming.
Story:
The game is based on the novel Water Margin, and takes place in ancient China during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty. The player fights with the ten bandits to build, sustain, and command an army of troops to eventually capture the evil Gao Qiu, China's Minister of War, before the Jurchen invasion occurs in January 1127. Economic controls are also available, including taxes and troop unrest.
