Story:
A series of cataclysmic events known as the Cascade has left the world all but uninhabitable. In a last ditch effort to survive, a subset of mankind place themselves in a deep cryo-sleep to wait out the planet's natural recovery. But when they wake up, it's into a world beyond recognition. Isolated to small settlements surrounding bioengineered earthtrees--enormous trees designed to keep the hostile wilderness at bay--Ascendant is humanity's struggle to survive in this brand new world.
